Molly “Polly” Laura Wilson, of Rushsylvania, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Mary Rutan Hospital. She was born in Roanoke, Virginia on July 16, 1924, to the late Gabriel Lee and Cordie Louise (Cox) Hylton. She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Richard “Dick” Wilson and sons: Lee Wilson and Lari Alan Wilson.
She is survived by her son, David Lynn Wilson; daughter-in-law, Patricia (Charles Rader) Wilson and granddaughters: Jill (Lance) Lilly and Cami Wilson.
A faithful Christian and long-time member of the Rushsylvania United Methodist Church and the RUMC Women’s group, Molly appreciated nature’s beauty and especially loved flowers and hanging baskets. She enjoyed baking for both her family and for countless church events. She was an avid reader and later in life, started writing poetry. One of her proudest accomplishments was to have some of her poems published, allowing others to enjoy her beautiful gift.
Polly had a passion for helping children in need and faithfully supported St. Jude Children’s Hospital. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Spending time with her loved ones was her greatest joy.
A celebration of Molly’s life will be planned at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rushsylvania United Methodist Church, 152 Rush St, Rushsylvania, OH 43347.
