Naomi Duffey Burns, 82 of
Hickory, NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Carolina Caring Hospice.
She was born on December 2, 1940, in Caldwell County to the late; Nelson Duffey and Pearlee Keller Duffey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Clarence Gary Burns, three brothers include, Paul Duffey, Melvin Duffey, Rick Duffey, and one sister, Nancy Story.
Naomi was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Rhodhiss, where she loved to worship. She played the piano, taught Sunday School, and was a former Director of the children's ministry. She was a Loving Mother, Grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She was also a former Mayor of Rhodhiss, NC.
Naomi is survived by her daughters, Tammy Leggins and husband Clyde "Butch" of Connelly Springs; Drenda Hunter and husband Randy of Charleston, SC,; four grandchildren, Taryn Gibson and husband James, Matt Hunter and wife Karen, Carrie Leggins, and Madison Hunter; three great grandchildren, Sophia Gibson, Levi Hunter and Jordan Hunter. Also survived by four brothers, Junior Duffey, John Duffey, Otis Duffey, and Mike Duffey.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 11:00 am., at First Baptist Church of Rhodhiss with Rev. Rick Miller officiating. The family will receive from 10:00 till 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
