Pearlie Mae Gaither

Pearlie Mae Gaither, 102, of Mystic, Georgia, died Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at South Georgia Rehabilitation Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Friday, March 8, 2024, at the Paulk Funeral Chapel in Ocilla, Georgia, with the Rev. R.T Castleberry, and her grandson Rev. Mark Lavender officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The interment will follow in the Mystic Baptist Church Cemetery.
Ms. Gaither was born July 16, 1921, in Coffee County, Georgia, to the late Henry Miller and the late Janie Whitley Miller. She was a homemaker, and was a very hard worker. She enjoyed singing, reading her bible and caring for others. She attended Mystic Baptist Church and Grace Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children: Lewis Lavender & Sherry of Illinois, James Lavender & Tina of Douglas, Lee Lavender of Ocilla, Herman Lavender & Betty of Fitzgerald, Joe Lavender of Mystic, Robert Lavender & Dorothy of Tifton, and Barbara Starling & Dwight of Nashville; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Judy Lavender of Fitzgerald; and other relatives also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clifton Gaither, two sons: John K. Lavender and David Lavender and a daughter, Wanda Mae Lavender.
Paulk Funeral Home, Ocilla, is in charge of arrangements.
