Rafael Hipólito Solano, nació el 27 febrero del 1930 en la ciudad de Santo Domingo en República Dominicana. Sus padres fueron el Sr. Rafael Solano y la Sra. Salome González(ambos fallecidos) y murió en abril 23,2023 en su residencia, rodeado de sus familiares.
Le sobreviven su esposa María Alberto de Solano, sus Hijos Luis y Nuris Mateo, Mario, Ana, Manuel Solano, 11 Nietos y 4 bisnietos
Desde muy pequeño sintió inclinación hacia los deportes y en el 1955 inicio labores como profesor y dirigente Deportivo al politécnico Loyola en la ciudad de San Cristóbal donde sostuvo ese cargo por alrededor de 11 años.
En el 1965 fue electo como secretario de la Federación Dominicana de Beisbol aficionado, donde ocupo ese cargo por 4 años mientras Harlem German fue presidente.
En el 1969 fue electo como secretario de la Federación Dominicana de Softball aficionado, donde ocupo ese cargo por 4 anos mientras Parra Beato fue presidente.
En septiembre del 1969, contrajo nupcias con María De Jesús Alberto con la cual procreo 3 hijos, Mario Rafael, Ana Karina y Manuel Antonio Solano.
Fue Primer presidente, miembro fundador y dirigente de la Liga Manuel Mota por 6 años.
Durante su labor como dirigente en el Don Bosco fue el primer mánager Amateur de Manuel "Manny" Mota.
En el 1977 se mudo a la ciudad de la Romana y ocupo varios cargos entre ellos presidente de la Asociación Dominicana de Beisbol de la Romana y en 1985 como presidente de la asociación de Softball de la Romana.
Entre sus aportes estuvieron Organizar torneos locales de beisbol y ayudo a seleccionar la selección de beisbol de La Romana.
También organizo torneos locales de Softball Masculino, Femenino y ayudo a elegir la selección de Softball de La Romana.
Desde el 1982 hasta el1993 sostuvo un programa diario de Radio en la Voz de la Romana llamado Romana en los Deportes, donde actualizaba a los oyentes en cuanto a Noticias y eventos deportivos.
En el 1993 se muda a la ciudad de Nueva York con su familia hasta su muerte en abril del 2023.
Su legado deportivo, humor y frases célebres siempre vivirán con nosotros.
