Rita Alice Fontaine, 94, of Allentown, passed away on October 22, 2024 in Cedarbrook Senior Living, South Whitehall Township. Rita worked as a bookkeeper at various companies until retiring. She also owned and operated a ceramic studio. Born in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Alice (Cote) Francoeur. At the age of 52, she went to college and graduated with a 2-year degree in Occupational Arts. Her biggest passion was reading. Rita loved to sing and dance and was an avid bowler. For many years, she bowled in several leagues in the Allentown area bowling centers. She was a true artist and loved knitting and crocheting. Rita was never one to sit down for a very long time. She had many adventures, hiking many miles on the Appalachian Trail and cross-country skiing on Mt. Royal in Montreal, Canada. Rita loved animals and almost always owned a dog or a cat or both.
Survivors: Children: Christine Fontaine (David Oyster) of Akron, OH, David Fontaine (Lauren) of Reisterstown, MD, Jeanne Zavada (Karen Lerch) of Whitehall and Deborah Robinson of Aston, PA, 10 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren.
