Robert "Bob" Earl Black, Jr., 91, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on January 24, 2025. He was born on February 2, 1933, in Kilgore, Texas, to Robert Earl Black, Sr. and Cluster Lou (Reeves) Black. Bob was a proud graduate of Monahans High School in Monahans, Texas.
On January 22, 1960, Bob married the love of his life, Alice Lucrecia Porter, in Odessa, Texas. Together, they shared a life filled with love, cherished moments, and countless memories. Bob had a deep passion for playing golf and enjoyed vacationing in the mountains, where he found peace and comfort in nature.
Robert had a distinguished career with El Paso Natural Gas, retiring after 33 years of dedicated service. Throughout his life, he was also deeply involved in his community and faith. He was a proud 33rd-degree Mason and an active member of the Lodge 623 Midland Masonic Lodge, as well as the Scottish Rite in Midland. He was also a member at First Christian Church of Midland.
Above all, Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His kindness, integrity, and gentle spirit will forever be remembered by those who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lucrecia Black of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Karen Goldsmith and husband, Roger of Frisco, Texas; son, James Black and wife, Christina of McKinney, Texas; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous other loving family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Keith Black; daughter, Greta Black; and parents, Robert and Cluster Black.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 27, 2025 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
Bob will have a committal service at Ridgeview Memorial Park at a later date. Details to be added shortly.
