Robert Benjamin "R.B." Felps Jr.

Robert Benjamin Felps, Jr. (R.B.) was born September 5, 1936 in a farmhouse on Yeager Creek Road, Blanco County, Texas, to Robert Benjamin Felps, Sr. (Bob) and Anna Lou Pellar Felps and passed away on August 13, 2014. At a very young age he was faced with taking over his father's business, which later became known as Felps Manufacturing Corporation, a business that he eventually turned into an empire. R.B. served his community and peers in many different ways. He was an initial shareholder and director of Rancher's Savings Association, director of Cattleman's National Bank, director on the Johnson City Hospital Board, director of the Johnson City Bank, he was appointed to the initial Central Appraisal District board of directors, and the president of the National Association of Farm and Ranch Trailer Manufacturers. He also served on the Johnson City Chamber of Commerce and the Blanco County Fair Association. However, he was probably proudest of his work as associate director, director and then finally president of the board of directors of the Pedernales Electric Coop. He is survived by his wife of 23 years Adelia Wallace Hobbs Felps, his mother Anna Lou Felps, son Robert Edward (Bob) Felps and wife Terrie, step-son Jimmy Hobbs and wife Amy, step-daughter Jennifer Hobbs, granddaughter Lauren Sagebiel and husband Robert (Henry), granddaughter Jamie Felps and friend Russell Kneese, great-granddaughters Landri and Reese Sagebiel, step-grandchildren Garrett and Madison Hobbs, brother Thomas Felps and wife Donna, sister Joann Carpenter and husband Don, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Crofts - Crow Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 18, 2014 at Liberty Lighthouse Fellowship Church in Johnson City, Texas, burial will follow at the Miller Creek Cemetery on Highway 290 East. Pallbearers will be Myron Felps, Garrett Craig, Leonard Haynes, Anson Haynes, Henry Sagebiel, Melvin Sultemeier, David O'Bannon, and David Coleman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clay Stubbs, Frank Haynes, Will Moursund, Kermit Sultemeier and the past PEC board members. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Blanco County Fair Association, Liberty Lighthouse Fellowship Church, Community Church of the Hills, or charity of your choice.
