Monson-Robert E. North, 91, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2024 in his home. Bob was born in Palmer, November 11, 1932 to the late, Ernest G. and Bernice H. (Henry)North. He was a graduate of Monson High School. He then served in the US Navy and the US Air Force. Upon his honorable discharge he began his lifelong career in Monson as the owner of Robert E. North Plumbing. For many years he was also the plumbing inspector for Monson and Brimfield.
Bob enjoyed attending classic car shows, collecting coins and he was an avid pitch player. He played in several area pitch leagues and was known to host a game or two in his home.
Bob leaves his children, Debra Davis and her husband John of Ludlow and Douglas North and his wife Judi Bedell of Monson; a sister, Cynthia Nordin and her husband Glenn of Monson; three grandchildren, Paul Pinsonnault, John Pinsonnault and Nathan North and three great grandchildren. Bob was predeceased by his longtime companion, Barbara Moran in 2022 and his brother, George North in 2023.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Lombard Funeral Home of Monson. A period of visitation will take place Monday, September 30, 2024 from 10-11:30 in the funeral home. A funeral procession will be held for a graveside service at 12 noon in Hillside Cemetery with Military Honors.
The family would like to thank Beacon Hospice for their care and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Monson Free Library 2 High Street Monson MA 01057.
