Bob, 79 years old of Ankeny entered into his eternal rest on Monday October 6th after many years of multiple illnesses. He ran the race and fought the fight with grace and virtue.
Born May 8th, 1946 in Oil City, Pennsylvania to James and Hilda (Hanes) Wollaston. October 14th, 1989 Bob married his best friend, Jeannie out at Dale Moffitt reservoir West of Des Moines, IA.
Early in Bob's career he taught survival training in the backwoods of Pennsylvania to special needs and disabled youth and young adults. He developed a life long love of science and nature at an early age. The bacteria Staph aureus brought him and his family to Iowa State University to further his education and his degree. Gaining proficiency in the Sciences, Mathematics, and Biology. Bob had a brilliant mind and was not afraid to challenge himself or students into the world of bugs and drugs. Over the years he taught at numerous schools in PA, with his longest tenure at DMACC in Iowa. He lobbied at the state capitol as an advocate for NEA, the National Education
Association so everyone could have a chance at a higher education throughout the state of Iowa. He enjoyed teaching.
During his retirement his faith in Christianity expounded with his Bible studies and the depth of relationship with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. This faith and devotion was with him through countless health challenges until he was called home to God in Heaven.
