Obituary of Rocky Lee Bieber
Rocky Lee Bieber died on March 22, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospital from complications of lymphoma. Rocky was born in Hot Springs, SD to Harold Leo Bieber and Shirley Gwendolyn (Larson) Bieber on October 4, 1950. Rocky spent his early years in South Dakota, graduating from Edgemont High School (Edgemont, SD) Class of 1968 and Northern State University (Aberdeen, SD) Class of 1972.
Rocky met his wife, Patricia (Wendt) Bieber, of fifty years while in college. After graduation, they began their married life in Anchorage, Alaska where he worked for Equifax Services and Montgomery Wards. He and his family relocated to Lacey, WA in 1986. They made the Pacific Northwest their home, residing in the Lacey community until 2003 when they moved to Puyallup.
Rocky spent 28 years feeding the greater Puget Sound community through his work at West Coast Grocery (Supervalu) until he retired in 2014. He found great satisfaction in providing groceries to his community. This passion fueled his love of cooking, hosting, and feeding his friends and family.
Rocky was an avid golfer, he enjoyed visiting and playing the country's most well-known courses. He was known to be a fan of Nebraska Cornhusker football, Gonzaga Bulldog basketball and the Seattle Seahawks.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; his two children Christopher (Brandi) Bieber, Amanda (William) Mayberry; his four grandchildren, Kaydence, Evan and Jack Bieber and Benjamin Mayberry; his brother, Craig (Claudia) Bieber, and nephews Cody (Katie Newman) and Casey (Bree) Bieber. He is preceded in death by his parents and two half-sisters, Cleo "Skippy" Marilyn (Bieber) Jones and Shirlee Mae (Bieber) Mets.
An open house to celebrate Rocky's life will be at held at the family's home on Sunday, April 2nd from 1 to 5pm. Rocky will be laid to rest in a private burial at Woodbine Cemetery in Puyallup, WA. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be made to the Puyallup Food Bank (https://pfb.org).
