Rodney Henson Obituary
Rodney Dee Henson was born on May 1, 1951, the third son of James Paul and Ludie Brown Henson and entered into eternal rest on July 27, 2023. He was born and lived in Gilmer the entirety of his life. He was a proud member of the GHS class of 1969.
He was a lover of music, the Gilmer Buckeyes, and the Texas A&M Aggies. He loved to operate heavy machinery and work with motors.
Rod has joined those who have gone before him--his beloved son, Ryan, parents, Paul and Ludie Henson, and brother, Sidney Henson. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Vicki Henson, daughters Jennifer Pilkerton (Michael) and Megan Hudson as well as dearly loved grandchildren Ryder Henson, Chloe Pilkerton, Eleanor Hudson, Piper Henson, and Dominic Hudson, his brother Larry Henson (Tommie), his sister Teena Henson, and numerous other family members and friends. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 31, 2023 at the Chapel of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer with John Richard Spencer, Keith Barber, Piper Henson, and Ryder Henson officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM.
