He was born October 17, 1957, in Macon, MO, the son of Roy and Betty Lee (Boling) Chinn. He was united in marriage to Cleola Diann Johnston. She preceded him in death on January 22, 2023.
Roy Lee was also preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his two children, Roy Joseph Chinn (Colleen) of Kansas City, KS, and Danielle Arevalo (Cesar) of Kansas City, KS; three grandchildren; siblings, Martha Wood (Chuck) of Huntsville, MO, Gary Chinn (Kathy) of Macon, MO, Kathy Stidham of Harrisburg, MO, and Connie Thrasher (Leslie) of Clarence, MO.
Roy Lee enjoyed finding antiques, old farm equipment, and the like. He was a history buff and loved to read up on current events as well. Roy Lee was known for his uncanny humor and funny sayings. He believed hard work was essential and worked hard every day up to the day he died. Even though he had several debilitating ailments, he refused to stop working. His goal in later years was to make up for a rough past. He was on a mission to show everyone that he loved them by going over board to make things right to those he wronged. Those who truly knew him loved him dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 10 am to 12 pm on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the Clarence Lake Shelter House near Clarence, MO. A lunch will be provided to those attending. Memorials may be made to the funeral home to cover final expenses.
