ADRIAN – Samuel Medina, age 95, of Adrian, died on January 18, 2024, at Ann Arbor Veterans Affairs Heath System. He was born November 8, 1928, in Toledo, Ohio to Manuel and Marian (Trujillo) Medina. On September 5, 1953, he married Dora Trevino in Adrian and she survives. Sam served in the U.S. Navy from 1945-1947. He had been employed by Hoover Universal for 38 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and served on the Usher's Club, the Guadalupe Society, the American Legion Post #374, and the USS Charles P. Cecil Association #DD835.
In addition to his wife, Dora, he is survived by a son, Samuel (Kathy) Medina Jr. of Detroit; a sister, Ruth Ann McGee of Adrian; three grandchildren, Jennifer Hosta and Nicole Medina and Kristie Mink; five great-grandchildren, Colton, Carson, Noah, Josh and Kyle and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ben Medina; a sister, Pauline Garcia; and a daughter, Linda Medina.
The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:30 am., Thursday, January 25, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Michael Newman as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery with Full Graveside Military Services conducted by The American Legion Post #97. Visitation will be held on, Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian with a Rosary offered at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral liturgy at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
