Sandra is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Lawrence Baker, Sr.; cherished children Ya'Vante (Jennifer) Thomas, James Thomas, Stephanie Smith-Douglas, Koleato Baker, and Lawrence Baker, Jr.; grandchildren Karrington, Jacob, LaZerrick, Dante (Mary), Desmond (Vineshia), Kiara (Cory), and Alexa (Josh); great-grandchildren Krisshaun, Kyrie, Kaiser, Bryson, Rylie, Addilyn, and Jaden; one brother Larry (Bennie) Guess; Aunt to many nieces and nephews, her church family and good friends Vicki Sloan-Wade, Beatrice Lomax, Wilbur Cawthon, Mary Alice Smith and Lois Jean Coppage.
She was preceded in passing by her parents; grandson Brandon Baker; and brothers Wellington, Edward, James, and her only sister Mondean.
A funeral service to honor Sandra's life will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 1 P.M. at Hampton Funeral Homes in Jackson. Family hour at the funeral home is from 11 A.M to 12 P.M, with visitation to follow from 12 P.M. until the time of service. A private interment will take place at a later date. My heart breaks with yours. You have lost your mother and grand-mother. I have lost my last aunt. I am honored to have known aunt Sandra and grateful for her blunt force honesty. May God bless all of you and may you all turn to God, for His comfort and peace.
