Severn J. Rodgers Sr.

Severn J. "Pine Tree" Rodgers, Sr., age 82 of Weches, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023 at his home. He was born February 2, 1941 in Weches to parents, Robert Jefferson Rodgers and Robbie Lee Richardson Rodgers. Severn worked as a truck driver and logger for many years and served two terms as a Houston County Constable. He enjoyed hog hunting, fishing on the Neches River and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Severn loved to tell stories and wore the biggest smile on his face.
Severn is survived by mother, Robbie Rodgers of Weches; children, Shelly Villanueva and husband, Eppi of Crockett, Steve Rodgers and wife, Barbara of Weches, Shane Rodgers and wife, Stacie of Weches, Randy Kellum of Ratcliff, Jerry Kellum of Ratcliff; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Essie Kellum and husband, Kennon of Weches; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. He was preceded in death by father, Robert "Dooley" Rodgers; son, Severn Rodgers, Jr., granddaughters, Stacie Kellum, Shana Rodgers; and his children's mother, Sherry Rodgers Hurley; sister, Geneva Moore.
Graveside funeral services for Severn J. "Pine Tree" Rodgers will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Rodgers Family Cemetery with Pastor Cary Modisett officiating. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.
