Sharon Kay Brandon

Sharon "Kay" Brandon passed away peacefully at her home on December 21, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents (Ralph and Louella Gilpin).
Kay was born in Baton Rouge and graduated from Istrouma High School. She had one son and eventually settled in Anacoco, Louisiana. Kay grew to love her small community and made many friends throughout the years. She later would become employed by the Anacoco School System where she worked for many years. She dearly loved her job and the kids who attended the school.
Kay loved spending time with her friends. She loved to read and enjoyed watching just about any sport especially anything involving the LSU Tigers. She cherished her family and absolutely adored her grandchildren Addison and Matthew. She was a member of East Leesville Baptist Church and was passionate about her ministry Beyond Our Walls.
She is survived by her son, Brian (Diana), sister Ann (Burney), brother Jimmy (Laurie), grandchildren Addison and Matthew, nephews Dale and Brandon, nieces Nikko and Jennifer.
A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at East Leesville Baptist Church. A visitation will be held at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to East Leesville Baptist Church and specify the ministry Beyond Our Walls. Beyond Our Walls is a program which feeds kids from Vernon Parish who have little or nothing to eat.
