Sharon Nancy Stoltz

ARENA - Sharon Nancy Stoltz, age 90, of Arena, passed away at Maplewood Nursing Home, Sauk City, on October 12, 2023.
She was born in Madison on October 10, 1933, to Daisy (Thompson) and John Raftree. She attended Madison East High School; graduating in the top ten percent of the Class of 1951. She was a member of the National Honor Society. Following high school, Sharon worked at Kroger Headquarters Madison when she met and later married William Anthony II "Bill" Stoltz from the Wyoming Valley area on August 22,1959. He preceded her in death on March, 30, 2002. Together they farmed until 1967 when they moved to Arena. Sharon was elected Clerk-Treasurer of the Village of Arena and later worked for Graber-Springs Window Fashions and the State of Wisconsin, Tax Dept. She was an active member of Midland United Methodist Church, Mazomanie where she enjoyed the Candlelight Circle and Bible Study.
From an early age, Sharon loved to travel and would often travel with her friend, Audrey. She traveled to many of the 50 states, Mexico, Belize and Ireland. She would spend time in Texas with her daughter. Sharon loved to watch birds and go for drives, often traveling rural roads to wildlife and recreation areas. She had a love of music and going to concerts, sewing, embroidery and crocheting, reading, puzzles and crosswords.
She is survived by her children: Cheryl (Mike) Schmidt, William Anthony III (Christine) Stoltz, Kathy Stoltz, Carrie (Gary) Berge; nine grandchildren: Michael (Jenna) Schmidt and their children, Willa and Ivy; Wesley Schmidt, Mariah Schmidt, William Anthony IV "Tony" Stoltz, Kyle (Kelsey) Stoltz and their daughter, Anna; Taylor (Shannon) Stoltz, Corey Forsythe, Maggie (Jordan Poe) Berge, Cody Berge; sister-in-law, Marlene Marklein; special longtime friend, Audrey Honer. Sharon is further survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband; she was preceded in death by siblings: Patricia (Walter) Feller, Marilyn (Paul) Lindau and Joseph Raftree.
Sharon's family would like to thank the staff members at Maplewood Nursing Home for the loving care she received.
A memorial service for Sharon will be held at Midland United Methodist Church, 10235 County Hwy KP, Mazomanie on November 4, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will be held after the service at Willow Hill Courtyard, 200 E. Sharon St., Arena.
In lieu of flowers and honoring Sharon's love of animals, memorials can be made to Iowa County Humane Society or Angel's Wish of Verona.
