STEVEN H. BONDELI, age 59, of Thorp, WI, formerly of Wanderoos, Town of Garfield, Polk County, WI, passed away at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, in Wausau, WI, on Saturday, September 14, 2024
Steven Harry Bondeli was born on February 20, 1965 in Osceola, WI to Harry L. and Jean C. (Gren) Bondeli. He was raised on the family farm near Wanderoos, and attended West Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osceola, where he was baptized and confirmed. Steve graduated from Amery High School in 1983 and then worked at Maus' IGA grocery store in Amery, where he met his future bride, Donna M. Truebenbach. They were united in marriage on June 7, 1986 at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland, MN. They resided in Wisconsin where he attended UW-Stout for 3 1/2 years. Steve then became employed with Xcel Energy in Eau Claire, WI as a customer service specialist for 25 years.
He had many interests, but especially loved being a family man; he was a great husband, and father. Steve was also an avid Packer fan, loved hunting and fishing, reading, and was a connoisseur of good food.
Steve will be deeply missed by his wife, Donna, of Thorp; his daughter: Sarah (Ronald) Tufly of Thorp; one sister: Terry (Tim) Elmer of Amery; two nephews: Kade Elmer of Amery and Reese Elmer of Osceola; and many kids who considered him dad.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his foster brother, Peter Taylor; and one niece, Kelli Elmer.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given in Steve's name.
