Over the next years, we bonded over common interests. The fondest memory was joining Susan and Jeff on a biking trip and being amazed by her strength and vigor. She slowed down to keep up with me and the kids. She had so many special gifts and we will cherish the memories and the good times.
Knowing Susan was a privilege.

Susan was a generous and creative member of Raleigh's Amnesty International Group 213 and friend to my daughter. We will miss her.

My introduction to Susan was when she hosted a group of high school
seniors at her home, before they went on to their prom. A most lovely & kind person, she kept a beautiful & welcoming home. Also appreciated, her well-thought contributions to our local Amnesty International group in Raleigh. You will be missed!

Working with Susan was a highlight of my career. She was generous, brilliant, a hard worker, and led with compassion and skill. She will be deeply missed. I feel honored to have had the opportunity to share such wonderful memories with Susan. Thank you for leaving a better world for us, Susan!

Susan was very supportive of the arts, and for seeing that the arts served the community, providing beauty and hope to everyone. She was a joy to speak with at many Carolina Ballet performances over the years, and her enthusiasm for dance was unbounded. You could not help but have a positive outlook after talking with Susan. Her energy and philanthropy live on throughout the Triangle. Miss you, Susan!
