SUSAN LOUISE HAGAN
Susan Louise Hagan, daughter of Fletcher and Dianne (Henry) Hagan, passed away on Tuesday, July 18th, 2023 holding the hands of lifelong friends Chuck Martin, Dawn (Watson) Martin, and Carla (Knieberg) Bostick. She was diagnosed with stage IV colorectal cancer last fall but never lost faith or her sense of humor.
Susan grew up in Jacksonville Beach, first on 9th Street and later on Fairway Lane. She attended Seabreeze Elementary, Episcopal, and graduated from Fletcher Sr. in 1981. She worked as a bartender at Shuckers, Rum Runner, Tree Steakhouse and the Junkyard Cafe before moving up to North Carolina with her family.
She will be remembered for her clever comebacks, her generosity, love for Bjorn Borg, Harry Connick, Jr, Days of Our Lives, and Barack Obama. Her Georgia vs. Florida football parties were legendary.
She is survived by her mother, her younger sister Jan (Hagan) Wolff, brother-in-law Shawn Wolff, and two beloved nieces, Abigail and Callie. Susan's care at the Marjorie McCune Center, Four Seasons Hospice, and from her cousin David Henry and cousin-in-law Dennis Polk was beyond compare.
