Susan Rucker

1947 - 2023

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; not to me only, but until all them also that love His appearing.

Ms. Susan Louise Rucker, 76, was born in Hartwell, Georgia on August 27, 1947, to the late Ora "RD" Rucker and Vadilue Craig Rucker. She departed this life on November 8, 2023, at Gordon Hospice House.
Louise graduated from Unity High School and was a member of the First Resurrection Church of God. At one time she was employed as a weaver in a factory. She enjoyed watching TV and especially loved watching westerns.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenny "Pop" Smith; siblings, Jerry Rucker, Lucious Rucker, Maddie Rucker, and Austin Rucker.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, a brother, Donald (Shirley) Rucker; two grandchildren, Te'Era Daniels and Kendrell Stevenson; five great grandchildren; her niece and caregiver, Sheila Polk; nephews, Charles Polk, and Anthony Rucker; and special friend, Omega and a host of nieces, and nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.
Celebration of Life services will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at The Mary B. Bigham Memorial Chapel, Rutledge & Bigham Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:30 - 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Bishop Lonnie E. Gray will be officiating and burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery.
