Timothy John Colman, 79, of Houghton Lake passed away on Saturday January 25, 2025 at King Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Houghton Lake.
Tim was born on June 19, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan to Edward Colman and Margaret (Jakli). He grew up in the surrounding areas of Detroit, before moving to Merritt, Michigan to raise his family. He then moved to Houghton Lake to make his home. He owned and operated Tim Colman Painting /Building for 40 years. Tim married Sandy on March 21, 1998. He was a member for 34 years with the Houghton Lake Elks, 37 years with the Houghton Lake Eagles, 22 years with the American Legion, and 39 years with the Houghton Lake and Gladwin Moose Lodge where he served as President at the Gladwin Lodge for 3 terms and was a Legionnaire. Tim enjoyed golf, and driving his tractor around the yard while doing yard work. His special love was spending time with his family, especially his loving wife, Sandra, and his special sweetie, great granddaughter Ciara, who was always by grandpa's side.
Surviving Mr. Colman are his loving wife of 26 years, Sandy Colman of Houghton Lake; daughter, Kimberly (Mark) Hoekwater of McBain; son, Andrew (Heather) Colman of New Baltimore; step daughter, Grace Kimm of Prudenville; step son, Larry (Lisa) Kimm of VA; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother, Ronald Colman of FL; several nieces and nephews. Tim was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be a Mass for Timothy John Colman at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Prudenville, at 9:00am on March 21, 2025. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake. Memorial contributions in memory of Timothy are asked to be directed to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, Development Office, 1820 Mount Elliott Street, Detroit, MI 48207.
