Tom, Kissinger, 78, passed away Thursday August 31, 2023, at home. He was born in Portland, Oregon on November 16, 1944, to Jake and Sylvia Kissinger-the 1st of three children.
In 1962, Tom graduated from Benson Polytechnic High School in Portland, Oregon. On February 7th, 1963, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. His career took him to Texas, Oklahoma, California, Washington, Alaska, Montana, Okinawa Japan and Illinois. He retired in 1983 as a Master Sergeant from Chanute Air Force Base. After his retirement he maintained his home in Great Falls, Montana before returning to Portland, Oregon in 2000. He was very proud to say that he served exactly 20 years. 10 months and 23 days.
In 1964 he married the love of his life, Judie. They were blessed with 3 daughters, who he loved more than anything. He was also blessed with 6 grandsons and 3 great-grandsons.
Tom was a proud member of Lents DeMolay. He was raised to the level of Master Mason in Lents Lodge while stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base through curtesy degrees in 1966. He was a Past worshipful Master for Euclid Lodge in Great Falls, Montana, Lents Lodge and Waverly Lodge. Tom followed the journey of his daughters through The International Order of Jobs Daughters and was a past Associate Guardian for Bethel #9, Great Falls, Montana and is a past Associate Guardian of Montana. Tom was a member of the Order of Easter Star. Serving as Worthy Patron, Olive Chapter #10 in Great Falls, Montana, Victory Chapter #130, Daphne Chapter #139 and Valiant-Sellwood #92.
Tom was a member of Gresham United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Judie, his 3 daughters, Mary (Marty), Jeanne (David) and Stephanie (Paul); 6 grandsons, Nathan, Adam, Cody, Justin, Braedyn and Logan; and 3 great-grandsons, Jaxon, Luke and Wayne; and his sister Barbara. He was preceded in death by his parents and baby brother, Jake.
A Masonic and Eastern Star service will be held September 6, 2023, at Lents Masonic Lodge at 11:00, with Military Honors. A private family internment will be held at Willamette National Cemetery.
