Virginia Mae Jones

Virginia M. Jones, 94, of rural Wabash, Indiana, died at 2:00 am, Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at her home. She was born on January 18, 1930, in Wabash, to Oras LeRoy and Josephine (Hanson) Parrett.
Virginia was a 1949 graduate of Wabash High School. She married Clarence L. "Sonny" Jones, Jr. in Wabash on June 19, 1949; he died July 26, 2022. Virginia owned Jones Fashions in Wabash, worked at A.F. Billing Manufacturing, and also decorated cakes. She was a former member of the Lady Elks. Virginia enjoyed baking, working crafts, and spending time with her family and her cat Suzy Q.
She is survived by her three children, Sandy (Vicki) Jones of Leesburg, Indiana, Karen Budney of Palm Desert, California, and Nancy (Jerry Welsh) Jones of Wabash; three grandchildren, Nicholas (Melissa) Jones of Lebanon, Indiana, Blake Jones of Leesburg, and Zachary (Stephanie) Jones of Pierceton, Indiana; four great-grandchildren, Ryan Jones, Audrina Jones, Chloe Jones, and Kelsie Jones. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with David Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 12:30-2:00 pm Tuesday, at the funeral home.
