William "Billy" Fekete

William "Billy" Michael Fekete, 77, of Granville, WV passed from this world to the next on Monday, April 7, 2025 after an extended illness and was given years of loving care by his wife, Kathie. Born on October 8, 1947 in Morgantown, WV a son of the late William Fekete and Madoline Wade Fekete. Billy was known for his kindness, generosity, and quiet gentle nature. He was devoted to his family and was a special friend to his neighbors. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and the Granville and Morgantown communities.
Billy graduated from Saint Francis High School where he played basketball and baseball. He bowled on a league in Westover, where he first laid eyes upon Kathie, the love of his life. He told a friend, "That's going to be my wife!", and they married in 1977.
He attended West Virginia University and WV Business College where he attained a degree in accounting. When he was drafted into the US Army in 1968, he was able to put his accounting degree to good use, working in Germany in charge of payroll.
After the Army, he worked at G.E. as a production operator for 33 years, retiring at the age of 60, but his favorite job was working with Kathie at News America Marketing. He was loyal and vocal fan of WVU football and of Pittsburgh Pirates baseball and rarely missed watching a game, either in person or on TV.
He leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Kathie Johns Fekete; daughter, Carrie Lynne Martin (Cory) of Kingsport, TN; son, Timothy William Fekete of Granville, WV; grandchildren, Maddox and Madilyn Kate; sister, Martha Fekete of Granville, WV; brothers, John Fekete (Randy Weber) of Westover, WV; lifetime friends: Bill and Carol Miller; and his dear pup: Cece.
In addition to his parents Billy was preceded in death by his precious Aunt Liz Fekete and his in-laws, Ron and Eleanor Bane, who he loved dearly.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Granville Fire Department, for always responding quickly in our time of need, the Westover VA, for their support, especially Brandy Beresford; the VA occupational therapist: Cara Damm; interim nurse: Whitney Hagedorn, for all of her care, the Amedisys Hospice Care Team, Caregivers: Marcia and David O'Connor; Trinity Church of Fairmont, WV, Young at Heart Wednesday morning class and Pastors Richard Wilson and Charlie Fancer; Church of Christ Wednesday Morning Class, Ron and Judy Williams and Sandy Donahue.
