William Frederick "Bill" Hamilton

William (Bill) Frederick Hamilton, 81, of Cross Junction, Virginia, formerly of Stafford County and Alexandria, died Friday, July 23, 2004 at The Willows at Meadow Branch in Winchester, Virginia.

Mr. Hamilton was born on June 24, 1923, in Deer Run, West Virginia, the son of the late Ora H. and Elizabeth Hamilton. He was an army veteran of World War II, and retired as Vice-President from LogEtronics, Inc. He was active in a number of civic organizations, and attended Redland United Methodist Church.

He married Elizabeth Thompson, September 8, 1997, in Winchester, Virginia.

Surviving with his wife are three children, a son, Randall R. Hamilton and his wife, Margaret, of Winchester, Virginia, two daughters, Barbara H. Smith and her husband Robert of Alexandria, Virginia, and Mary Beth Kiernan and her husband Tom of Virginia Beach, Virginia, two step sons, Thomas Thompson and his wife, Pong, of Fayetteville, Georgia, and Mark Thompson of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, five grandchildren and two step grandchildren.

Surviving also are a sister, Norma Suter of Dayton, Virginia and a brother, Charles Hamilton of Harrisonburg, Virginia. A sister, Iris Hamilton Ansel, is deceased.

He was previously married to the former Cornelia Jean Ruddle who preceded him in death in 1975.

A memorial service will be at Redland United Methodist Church on Sunday, July 25, at 2:00 P. M. with the Reverend John B. Julcher presiding. The family will receive friends after the service.
