William E. "Eddie" West, Jr., age 75, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, in Peachtree City, GA. Born on May 9, 1949, in Rome, GA, he was the beloved son of the late William E. West and Paralee West, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Rick West.
Eddie honorably served his country in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1989. During his distinguished two-decade career, he was stationed in Texas, Germany, Korea, and Alabama. After retiring from the military, he continued his service to others by working at Parrott Funeral Home and Crematory until his retirement.
Known for his kind and gentle demeanor, Eddie possessed a dry sense of humor that brought joy to all who knew him. He was a familiar face at South Pointe Bible Fellowship, where he warmly greeted members and visitors alike. Eddie also dedicated his time as a volunteer cart driver at the local hospital, showcasing his unwavering commitment to helping others.
Eddie found great joy in the game of golf, spending many happy hours on the course with friends and family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary West; his children, Jamie Gault, Daniel West and his wife Chung Ah, and Kate Guyton and her husband Daniel. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Ella Young, Liam Young, and Bryce Gault. Eddie is also survived by his sister, Pat Floyd and her husband Earl, and his sister-in-law, Kathy West. His nephews, Keith Smith and Zach West, and niece, Tandi Smith, along with many other loving extended family members and friends, will remember him fondly.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 11 o'clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Turner and Mr. Brad Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at Parrott Funeral Home and Crematory.
Eddie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of kindness, service, and humor will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
