Bonnie Wilson Obituary

Bonnie Ethel Wilson

Sept. 30, 1945 - Feb. 28, 2024

NAPA - In Loving Memory of Bonnie Ethel Wilson, who peacefully transitioned from this world to the presence of her Savior, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering love and boundless pride for her family.

Born in Queens, NY, Bonnie's early years in Connecticut were enriched by the love of her parents, Lillian and Frank Proebster; sister, Cristina Vaillancourt; and brother, Doug Proebster. After graduating from Concordia College in New York, she traveled west to Napa, California to accept a teaching position at St. John's Lutheran where she met and married Ken Wilson. Her journey led her from the halls of education to the sanctity of her home, where she poured her heart and soul into raising her three beloved children. Her pride in their accomplishments knew no bounds, and she reveled in every milestone they achieved. Her love and support were unwavering, guiding them through life's challenges with tenderness and support.

Even when no longer teaching at St. John's Lutheran School, she continued to serve in the congregation, serving as a Bible Study leader. In her love and compassion, she also faithfully visited homebound members and others in need.

As her family grew to include grandchildren, Bonnie's heart expanded with even greater pride and joy. She cherished each moment spent with them, delighting in their laughter, accomplishments, and the unique bonds they shared.

Bonnie's pride in her family was matched only by her compassion for others and her creative spirit. Her talents in quilting and crafting brought joy to all who knew her, as she shared her creations with love and generosity.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Kenneth Wilson; daughter, Cindy Schuttish; son-in-law Doug Schuttish; granddaughter, Emily Schuttish; grandson, Nick Schuttish; daughter, Carol Wilson Millerick; son-in-law, Ryan Millerick; and her son, Peter Wilson.

Bonnie will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were touched by her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. Though she may no longer walk among us, her legacy, lessons, and love live on in the hearts of those she loved and the memories she created.

A memorial service to celebrate Bonnie's life will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Napa, CA, on April 5, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.

I knew Bonnie as the mother of my sister-in-law. To me, she was always a kind, welcoming and sweet-spirited lady with a bright outlook who could almost be seen smiling. She generously hand-crafted intricate greetings cards for many occasions and sewn or quilted gifts to family members and friends were common. She was long active in her church, a cherished friend to my mother, and a wonderful influence on her two grandkids.
