Dear Serino Family

It's been so long since we've seen or heard from eachother, I just learned about Morgan's death yesterday. I along with my sister used to babysit Morgan and the others. I'm at a loss for words...he was such a WONDERFUL, BEAUTIFUL, AND FUN little boy. I thought of all the happy times we had while babysitting him. My heart is heavy. All of you are in my prayers.

It has been 5 months since Morgan's passing. 5 month's to the day I lost my brother too. I now can relate to Grace, Kathleen, Andrew, Gen, Mary, and Meredith. My heart is as heavy as yours is now. We shall hold each other up through our faith. Wayne is probably teaching Morgan the drums. It will be wonderful to see each other again. God calls us in His time not ours. We will miss them dearly.

Eventhough life may seem unfair, and hard to endure, always remember God is listening. He unselfishly gives us the world to enjoy. And when he feels our purpose in life has been completed, he brings us home, his beloved creations, so he may too enjoy the company of someone special.
Morgan, till we see you again my friend, if you could please give the man upstairs a big fat hug from us all.
* A reminder to all to forget the silly materialistic problems in our lives and start appreciating the true meanings to life- family! *

To the Serino family,

As Morgan's American literature teacher, it was such a joy to see Morgan's excitement for learning grow as the semester went on. It was also rewarding for my student teacher, Mr. Davis, who seemed to really make a connection with Morgan despite (or maybe even because of) a moment or two where they butted heads a bit. The respect for each other grew throughout the semester, and it was Morgan who took extra time at the end of class to finish a written note to Mr. Davis. I still remember the moment where Morgan said, with a the genuineness that so often exhuded from him, "He has to leave? Awwww.... He'll be a really good teacher." I wish I could have attended the services, but my wife and I were traveling in Israel. I thought of your family many times over Christmas break and will continue to uplift you in prayer with the hope that God will give your family comfort and a peace that passes understanding.

To the Serino Family,
We know that words can not begin to express how you feel or how deeply sorry we are for your loss. We will keep you all in our prayers and send this prayer for you: God, you sacrificed your son so that we and our children would transcend physical death. We know that you grieved when he was crucified and that you grieve over all the atrocities done by men -- especially in your name. You know and understand grief as you know and understand all. You know best how to comfort these parents. Lift their hearts up to you and fill them with your peace. Your understanding is beyond our human comprehension, but give them the knowledge and faith to endure even that which they can't understand. Let them be aware of you always God, and help them to remember that your Love is Life that can never really be taken away.
God be with you all.

December 27, 2006

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
