My husband, Dr. Edward Friel, was an optometrist with Dr. Tavel for many years. I'm sure he would be very sad to learn of Dave's death. Ed himself has been in Riverwalk Village, a nursing home in Noblesville, since last July, with dementia and liver cancer. The family of Dr. Tavel also has my condolences.
