Eleanor Catherine O'Neale Markham

Naples, FL

Eleanor Catherine O'Neale Markham passed away in Naples on September 23,2016.

Eleanor was born November 18, 1930 in Washington D.C. where she lived until moving to Naples in 1983, except for short stay in Tehran, Iran. Eleanor attended Holy Trinity Grade School and Immaculata High School, both in Washington. Her husband of 55 years, George Douglas Markham III, passed away in 2006. She was active in genealogical studies authoring books on the O'Neale and Markham families of Washington D.C and Virginia.

Eleanor leaves behind a son, George Douglas Markham IV, now of Naples; granddaughter, Elizabeth Hazel Markham of Jersey City, N.J.; and sister-in-law, Judith O'Neale of Lafayette, LA. In addition she leaves 8 geographically spread nieces and nephews from the O'Neale clan, Donna, John, Mary, Kathleen, Daniel, Patrick, Helen, Richard, and the late William, as well as numerous grand-nieces and -nephews and great grand-nieces and -nephews. Eleanor will be buried in the Rock Creek Cemetery in Washington D.C. where numerous generations of Markhams and Douglases are interred. For online condolences, please visit fullernaples.com.
