Richard was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 26, 1929 to Alfred and Helen Rex. He passed away peacefully in his home on April 17, 2019 at the age of 89. Richard grew up in Denver and Manitou Springs and joined the navy after high school. He served as an aviation electrician during the Korean War. He returned to Denver after his discharge and began a long career in sales. He eventually started his own company, Rexco, which sold irrigation equipment in the Rocky Mountain region.
He was fond of the outdoors and was extremely proud of his beautiful yard and garden. He loved animals and his poodles, Dolly and Joy, were his babies forever. Learning held a special interest for Richard, and he became an avid reader and participant in OLLI classes in later life.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia Belle Busch, ten nieces and nephews along with their spouses as well as countless great- and great-great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his three siblings Catherine Matthews, Betty McKee and Alfred Rex, Jr.
Per Richard’s request, there will be no public ceremony.
Contributions can be made in his name to either the American Heart Association, https://www.heart.org/, or the Parkinson’s Foundation, https://parkinson.org/.

I am going to miss Uncle Richard. He was an important part of my life when I was young and even more so in his later years. May God rest his soul and watch over Aunt Virginia.

I have many wonderful memories of my Uncle Richard. Most of those are from my childhood. He was a great Uncle. Funny, kind, and very smart. In later years we had several happy conversations, and an occasional visit. You will be missed Uncle.
