PROSPERITY - Barry Glenn "Squeak" Lester, 57, died Friday, July 10, 2015, at his residence.
Born on July 23, 1957, in Prosperity, he was a son of Dorothy "Dot" Harmon Lester and the late John Shup Lester. He was a retired contractor having previously worked for IWR Construction. Mr. Lester was the former owner of Newberry Carports and Awnings and the Handi-House of Lexington. He was of the Presbyterian faith. He loved the lake and building things and was an avid fisherman.
He is survived in addition to his mother, Dot Lester by his wife, Stanton Harris Lester; daughters, Meagan Marie (Benjy) Goings of Pomaria and Hailey Alana (Ben) Lominick of Newberry; a sister, Penny Lester (Tommy) Sadler of Mt. Pleasant; brother, John Kent Lester of Prosperity; grandchildren, Duece Goings, Tristin Goings, Georgia Wilbanks, Taylor Mazza, C.J. Wilbanks, Karma Goings and Landon Berley; many nieces and nephews and many, many friends. Mr. Lester was predeceased by Christerbell Rae Sharp Williams who was like another daughter.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00-7:30 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Tri-County, 13795 C.R. Koon Highway, Newberry, SC 29108 or toward the funeral expenses, 1724 Main Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
