Wilma Ramsey age 78 of Del Rio, TN. passed away on January 22, 2023, at Tennova North Select Specialty Hospital, Powell, TN.
She was preceded in death by parents, Rufus and Gennie B. Black; brother, Edward Black; granddaughter, Frances DiNello; grandson, Leyton Reed, nephew Kenny Jenkins; mother-in-law, Opal Ramsey; sisters-in-law, Vivian Ramsey and Brenda Ramsey; grandmother-in-law, Oda Parks.
She is survived by her loving husband, D.C. Ramsey of Del Rio, TN; sons, Jerry "Spanky" Holt Jr. (Barbara) of Grassy Fork, TN, Mark Ramsey (Sally) of Cosby, TN; daughters, Deborah "Susie" Moore (Carroll) of Del Rio, TN, Leasia Reece of Newport, TN, Kim Finchum of Newport, TN, and Rebecca (Becky) Ramsey (Ricky Parton) of Newport, TN; grandsons Jarrod Holt (Sarah), Josh Holt (Ben), Eric Reece (Misty), Eli Ramsey and Rylan Parton; granddaughters, Stacy Reece Frost, Ashley Clevenger (Jonas), Macie Reed and Alexis Parton; great-grandchildren, Ariela Holt, Cambree Clevenger, Brylee Clevenger, Kamen Clevenger, Michael DiNello, Murray DiNello, Lydia Reece, Jaycee Reed & Colsyn Henderson; sisters Mary Kate Fish (Danny) and Mildred Jenkins (Kenneth); sisters-in-law Diana Black, Brenda Smith, and Mary Ramsey; brothers-in-law John Dale Ramsey and Barney Ramsey (Carolyn); best friends Judy Hudson, Wanda Lamb whom she called her dialysis sister; a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends, all the staff at Newport Dialysis center and her cat Boots.
The Family would like to thank Newport Dialysis Center, Smoky Mountain Home Health, Tennova North Hospital ICU staff and Tennova North Select Specialty Hospital staff for the excellent & loving care she received.
If ever there was a warrior, it was her. She fought a long and hard battle and the family has comfort in knowing that she is now at peace with her Heavenly Father and no longer in pain. She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all that knew her.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., Thursday, January 26, 2023 with the funeral service following at 7 p.m., in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred Cagle and Jesse Ramsey.
Burial will be held 2 p.m, Friday, January 27, 2023 in Union Cemetery in Newport, TN.
Pallbearers will be Spanky Holt, Mark Ramsey, Jarrod Holt, Josh Holt, Carroll Moore and John Dale Ramsey.
In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial donation to Cocke County Shrine Club in care of Jimmy Clark, at Manes Funeral Home, 363 East Main Street, Newport, TN 37821, or to the organization of your choice.
