CHAMPAIGN – Evelyn Haley, 85, of Champaign passed away on Thursday (June 26, 2008).
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Morgan Memorial Home, 1304 Regency Drive West, Savoy. There will be a private burial on Tuesday.
Mrs. Haley was born Oct. 31, 1922, in Herrin, a daughter of Thomas and Nola Boles O'Neal. She married Richard Lake in 1940. He died in World War II.
He was the father of Richard and Thomas Haley. She married Jack Haley on Jan. 14, 1947, in Champaign. He died on March 17, 1995.
Survivors include three sons, Richard Haley (Beryl) of Kitty Hawk, N.C., Thomas Haley (Diana) of Madison, Wis.; Michael Haley (Judy) of White Heath; and two daughters, Pat Bruns (Chuck) and Sue VanMatre (Michael), both of Champaign. Survivors also include 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Imogene Brooks of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, two brothers and two sisters.
She was formerly employed at Robeson's and B. Dalton Books.
