Dennis James Mullen

1950 - 2016

Dennis James Mullen, 65 of Rome, formerly of Middlefield, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at his home, with his family by his side.
He was born on September 10, 1950, in Cleveland, son of the late Alvin R. and Dorothy (St. Clair) Mullen.
Dennis graduated from Middlefield High School in 1968 and ATS Truck Driving School. He retired in August of 2014 from Armes Trucking Co. of East Claridon, were he was a truck driver for many years. He also was a tree trimmer for Chandler's Tree Service in Newbury, and a U.S. Navy veteran. Dennis was a lifetime member of VFW in Middlefield; member of Middlefield United Methodist Church; Rock Creek Conservation Club; and the American Pool Association. He enjoyed playing pool and riding his motorcycle.
He will be missed by his family and many friends: his beloved wife, Jeri Lynn (Poling) whom he married on June 20, 2015; his son, Daniel; his father in law, Gerald R. Poling, Sr.; four siblings, Sharon Steiner, Shirley Sizemore, Alvin R. "Bud" (Dianna) Mullen III, and Susan Plickert; his brother-in-law, Gerald Poling Jr.; three sisters-in-law, Rae Jean Burgard, Sandi Bright, and Beverly Morse; and many nieces and nephews; Bob Kopp Jr., Debbie Woolsey, Ken Kopp, Roger and Bob Steiner, Stefanie Easter, Stephen Sizemore, Tammy McClurg, James Mullen, Jamie Poyer, Chris Plickert, Brenda Timko, Michael Plickert, Chad and Robert Burgard, Dana Poling, Gina Helsel and Tony Morse.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his mother in law, Jean Poling; his sister, Sheilah Lynn Kopp; his brothers-in-law, Robert Kopp Sr., Roger Steiner, John Plickert, Harry Sizemore; and his nephews, Patrick Plickert and Joshua Morse.
