Sue Rasmussen

1955 - 2022

Sue Rasmussen, 66, of Gormania, WV, passed away March 17, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. She was born September 10, 1955, in Painesville, Ohio, a daughter to the late George Albert and Doris Jean (Wooten) Rasmussen. Sue was a graduate of Fairport Harding High School. She retired from Team One Automotive where she worked in the parts department. She enjoyed reading, hiking, gardening and working in her flowerbeds. Left to cherish her memories is the love of her life, Leonard Wade Shaffer, Jr., whom she married on October 28, 1988 in Fairport Harbor, Ohio. Also surviving are six children, Tony Griggs of Houston, Texas, Tina Shaffer of Thomas, WV, Leonard Shaffer, III and wife Ashley of Elkins, WV, Melissa Goldizen and husband Ryan of Cabins, WV, Jaramie Shaffer and wife Abby of Aurora, WV, and Andrea Banschenbach of Virginia Beach, VA; nine grandchildren, Timmy Kemphfer of Morgantown, WV, Camren Kemphfer of Thomas, WV, Hunter Shaffer of Elkins, WV, Ella Shaffer of Aurora, WV, Isaiah Goldizen of Cabins, WV, Ashton Shaffer of Aurora, WV, Jackson Banschenbach of Virginia Beach, VA, Elijah Goldizen of Cabins, WV, and Rachel Banschenbach of Virginia Beach, VA; three siblings, Edward Rasmussen and wife Audrey of Thompson, OH, James Rasmussen and wife Cathy of Westlake, OH and Laura Joscelyn and husband Charlie of Carrsville, VA and one sister in law, Michelle Shaffer. Sue's request for cremation will be honored. There will be no services. The Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family at this time.
