Louise (Pat) Garrison, 89, entered Heaven's Glory on May 19, 2008. Born in Charlotte, N.C., to Margaret and Jack Paschall, Louise was married to Don (Bill) Wieland Metler who predeceased her in 1955. A member of Dilworth Methodist Church, Charlotte, N.C., Louise and Bill raised their four children in Charlotte. She was an Assoc. Member of Wilmington Board of Realtors, attended Carolina Business College and East Carolina College, Sorosis, and Gray Lady. After relocating to Wilmington, N.C., she married Kenneth Garrison who predeceased her in 1998. Ken and Louise lived many years in Florida. Louise was a dedicated mother and homemaker who lovingly instilled in her children the value of family, education and learning. She enjoyed the beach, travel, family vacations, and a love of the outdoors. Louise was a member of the Society of the Daughters of American Revolution, active in her Jensen Beach, Fla. church, Jensen Beach Garden Club, volunteered with many charities, and in 1996 moved to the Daytona Beach area. She is survived by her four children, Don W. Metler, South Daytona; Judy Ann Rimmer, Port Orange; Michael J. Metler, Sr., Charlotte, N.C.; and Russ P. Metler, Gainesville, Fla.; nine grandchildren: Wade Jr., Scott, Susan, Denise, Crystal, Lisa, Ashley, Michael Jr., and Darren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. The family is extremely grateful and appreciative of the compassion and care given during Mrs. Garrison's extended illness by Odyssey Health Care (Hospice) and Bishop's Glen Health Care. Funeral services for Mrs. Garrison will be held at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 4815 S. Clyde Morris Blvd, Port Orange, FL 32129 on Friday, May 23, at 3 p.m. Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. prior to service. Interment will be at Sharon Memorial Gardens in Charlotte, N.C.
