Audrey Scott Obituary

Obituary

Audrey Marie Scott, 70, of North Fort Myers passed away Thursday, September 21, 2006. Born in Warsaw, New York, Audrey and her husband Ron lived in New York, Arizona and Kentucky before moving to North Fort Myers four years ago. In July, surrounded by family and friends, she and Ron renewed their vows on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.

After graduating from the University of Rochester School of Nursing in 1957, Audrey spent years as a registered nurse working primarily in critical care areas. Her leadership and skills in working in an emergency room environment led her to being selected to train the first paramedic and LifeFlight classes in Phoenix, Arizona.

An avid believer in community involvement, Audrey was involved in the Mesa Leadership program and growth of the Galleria Mesa, a fine arts museum dedicated to the visual arts in Mesa, Arizona. Her extensive volunteering led to her being recognized by the Governor of Arizona. Upon moving to North Fort Myers, she continued her lifelong involvement in civic affairs, volunteering with the Community

Emergency Response Team (CERT) under the auspices of the North Fort Myers Fire Department and serving as Secretary of the Tara Woods Homeowners Association. She was also a tireless volunteer at her church, Good Shepherd United Methodist.

A devoted and loving wife to her husband, Ron, for over 50 years, Audrey is also survived by her son, Greg Scott (wife Tina) of Russellville, Tennessee, daughter Andrea Foster (husband Terry) of Mesa, Arizona, and daughter, Pam Nulman (husband Jim) of Fort Myers, Florida. By far some of Audrey's happiest moments were spent in the company of her nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who were a constant light in her life. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie.

A celebration of Audrey's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 25, 2006 at the Tara Woods Club House, 19376 U.S. Highway 41 North in North Fort Myers. Memorial contributions may be made in

Audrey's name to the Southwest Florida Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 366337, Bonita Springs, FL 34136.

Dear Ron & Family. We are so sorry about Audrey. We will miss her so much. She was always smiling, helping others, and so giving, a very nice person. I've sent you a card, and a memorial to church. Wish we could have been at her service, but we're still in Wisconsin. You have our sympathy. Ken & Beth Ferris
