Louise Houser Obituary


Obituary

Louise (Squier) Houser was born January 12, 1916 in Dekalb County, Indiana and entered into rest on September 18, 2008. She was a member of the N. Fort Myers Methodist Church and a past member of Dekalb County Chorus as well as the Purdue University Chorus. She was a past matron of Houghton Lake Order of Eastern Star, past committee woman of the State of Michigan OES and past Worthy High Priestess of Houghton Lake of which she was a charter member and a life member. Louise was also part committee woman of the Supreme White Shrine.

In 1957, Jim and Louise chose to move to Houghton Lake, Michigan where they purchased a resort and Louise opened her own Beauty Shop. In 1954, Jim began having health problems, which forced them to to a warmer climate. In 1972, they finally made the permanent move to N. Fort Myers, FL. In October 2001, Jim passed away after 67 years of a long and happy marriage.

Louise is survived by her two sons, Larry (Kerin) Houser of N. Fort Myers, FL and James (Barbara) Houser of Knoxville, TN; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, 1 sister, Lois Scogin of Fort Wayne, IN. She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters, one grandson, and one great-grandson.

The family will receive friends Sunday, September 21, 2008 from 2-4 PM at National Cremation Society and Funeral Home, 3453 Hancock Bridge Pkwy., N. Fort Myers. The family would prefer memorial contributions to the N. Fort Myers United Methodist Church. National Cremation Society and Funeral Home.
