GAIL HAMMOND Obituary

GAIL HAMMOND Shawnee resident Gail Hammond, 82, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at her home. Memorial services are pending and will be held at a later date. Gail was born January 13, 1941, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Everett Doyle Allen and Anna Carol (Caddell) Allen. She attended school in Ada and Shawnee and earned her Bachelor's Degree from East Central University. She married Clifford Don Hammond on September 2, 1967. Gail worked as a social worker for the Department of Human Services before retiring. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Spinning Spools Quilting Guild. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Allen Jones; two brothers, Jack and Paul Allen; and a sister, Judy Dooley. Survivors include her husband, Don Hammond of the home; a son, John Hammond of Edmond; two daughters, Jennifer Anderson and husband Charles of Long View, Texas, and Sarah Hammond of Seminole; two grandchildren, Max Anderson and Mark Anderson of Texas; three great-grandchildren, Mason, Rorey, and Colton Anderson; one sister, Caroline Carwell of New Hampshire; and several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
