Deacon Albert Peters Deacon Albert Peters, age 56, of 121 Bryant Road, Lynchburg, VA, went to be with the Lord quietly on Wednesday, August 14, 2013. Albert was preceded in death by his parents Violet M. Peters and Sylvester Peters of Portsmouth Dominica; father-in-law, Dea. Wilburn E. Cunningham, sister-in-law, Deborah C. Marshall both of Gladys, VA; and a nephew, Anthony Aubury, St. Johns, Antiqua. Albert is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Dr. Sandra C. Peters; son, Albert (Addison) Peters, Chesapeake, VA; daughter, Jaclyn (Eric) Beard of Lynchburg, VA; three grandchildren, Aliyah Peters, Logan Peters, and Dominic Beard; sisters, Mrs. Helen Peters of St. Croix, Mrs. Jane (Conrad) Cornelius, Ann (Michael) Arbury, St. John, Antiqua, USVI; brother, Francis Israel of Corona, NY; mother-in-law, Mrs. Mabel D. Cunningham of Gladys, VA; sisters-in-laws, Ms. Barbara C. Hood of Shrewsbury, PA, Mrs. Mary (Charles) Johnson of Roanoke, VA, Ms. Gwendolyn Irving of Gladys, VA, Mrs. Nancy (Larry) Winn of Forest, VA, Mrs. Florence (Rev. Clement) Joseph of St.Thomas, USVI, brother-in-law Dea. George Marshall, Jr., Richmond, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Born November 8, 1956, Albert was a devoted husband, father, friend, co-worker and a caring neighbor. He completed his Electrical Engineering Degree at Dupigny College, Roseau, Dominica. He attended Bluewater Bible College, St. Thomas, USVI, and later transferred to LU. He was also enrolled in the Culinary Degree program at CVCC. He was a superb culinary artist who loved to prepare unique meals for his family and friends. He was employed 21 years at Comscope, formally Grayson Wireless. He was fluent in two foreign languages. He joined First Baptist Church South Lynchburg in 1984 and was ordained in 1987, a dedicated adult Sunday school teacher and chaired the Church Finance Committee. He gave with love to supporting activities with the United Way of Central Virginia and was a frequent donor for the American Red Cross. Albert's hobbies included designing landscapes, playing the guitar, piano, composing his own musical arrangements, photo-graphy, and was a stained glass artist. Funeral services will be held, Monday, August 19, 2013 at First Baptist Church South Lynchburg at 2500 Tazewell Avenue, Lynchburg, VA at 3:00 pm. Rev. Carl B. Hutcherson, Pastor of the Church, officiating with Rev. Nigel Alleyne as Eulogist. The family will be at the Church, one hour prior to the service.
