Arthur Edward Burch Sr.
Arthur Edward Burch Sr., 86, of Lynchburg died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, at the Odd Fellows Home. He was the husband of Addie Adams Burch of Lynchburg.
Born Aug. 17, 1920, in Amherst county. He was a son of the late Emmett Ernest and Eva Page Burch.
Arthur was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II having served aboard the U.S.S. Biloxi. He was a retired employee of Lynchburg Foundry and a member of Park View United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Ernest E. Burch and William A. Burch.
Surviving are his daughter, Barbara B. Bryant and husband, Clayton R., of Monroe; two sons, Arthur E. Burch Jr. and wife, Patricia D., of Roanoke, and Terry W. Burch and wife, Betty, of Forest; his stepson, Buddy Almond of Manassas; two step daughters, Barbara A. Stump of Lynchburg, and Laverne A. Ramsey of Richmond; two sisters, Lois B. Cutshall and husband, Shelby, of Monroe, Marilyn B. Harris and husband, Fred, of Madison Heights; a sister-in-law, Helen R. Burch of Madison Heights; 12 grandchildren, Julie Watts, Raymond Bryant, Matthew Burch, Edward Crews Jr., Brian Crews, Robin Almond, J. D. Almond, Kevin Almond, Mark Almond, Michael Stump, Kathy Stump and Malinda Stump; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Diuguid Wiggington Chapel, with the Rev. Lenn E. Lloyd and the Rev. Jeri Bishop officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.

WE MET MR. BURCH AT THE ODDFELLOWS HOME. WE FORMED A SPIRITUAL RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM & WE VISITED AND HAD PRAYER NUMEROUS TIMES. ON THE BACK OF HIS BIBLE IS "ABRAHAM
VISITOR" HE WROTE. GOD BLESS FOR WE LOVED MR. BURCH.

The Burch Family:
My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. Mr. Burch was such a lovely sweet and caring person and I always enjoyed talking with him on a daily basis when I worked for the Odd Fellows Home. He always had a big smile and a kind word for everyone. He will be greatly greatly missed. God bless you all!

Ed taught me a lot growing up. He was a wonderful uncle, but more importantly a great friend. We always had fun talking about UVa football and basketball, and about the St.Louis Cardinals. "Shortman"
