Hi, this is Tom Klug - longtime friend of both Gregg and Audrey. 53 years is a long time to know folks, and I have enjoyed every minute with Gregg and Audrey - true friends.
Our friendship dates all the way back to the first moments of Gregg and Audrey meeting each other at the Pi Phi sorority house at Ohio State. Gregg (then in OSU med school) and I (in my senior college year at Ohio State) were roommates, washed dishes and scrubbed pots at the Pi Phi house in exchange for food, and shared many a laugh and good time with Audrey.
Both Gregg and Audrey were great supporters of mine during my post-college time fighting through the CPA exam while working at Price Waterhouse. Thereafter, Audrey (while living post-college in NJ) took pity on my miserable dorm existence in NY City at Columbia Business School then Columbia Law School and checked in on me several times.
I attended Gregg and Audrey's wedding, and we have visited regularly ever since - usually over the phone and rarely in person, as my Wall Street career often restricted my available in-person time.
We all celebrated Gregg and Audrey's move to the much-warmer Arizona climate. I remained always a prayerful supporter of Audrey's brave and uncomplaining fights with illness, and great admirer of Gregg's noble and enduring support for Audrey's every step in this journey.
I am so very sorry that we have lost Audrey but am certain her memory will endure with family and friends.
One of my favorite sayings comes from Maya Angelou - to the effect that people will forget what you said, and people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. By that measure, the lives of both Gregg and Audrey together, and their steadfast efforts to make family, friends, and each other always feel important, are a towering success!
