John O'Connor Obituary

O'CONNOR - John R., 93, of Lynbrook on June 21, 2021. Jack raised 10 children with his wife Ann and practiced law for more than 40 years. Jack, a graduate of St. Francis College and St. John's Law School, was a senior partner at his firm. He also served as Lynbrook Village Justice and later as a Nassau County Judicial Hearing Officer. Jack was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Parish and an ardent fundraiser for the Oblate Sisters and Mercy Hospital. Irish to the core, Jack was an active member for many years of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. Jack is predeceased by his wife Ann and five siblings, including his recently departed twin, James. He is survived by his 10 children: Rosemary (Jack), Robert (Paula), Damian (Erin), Terrence (Maureen), Sheila (Tim), Deirdre (Jodi), Patrice (Pleasant), Maura (Dan), Aileen (Jim) and Annmarie (Paul), and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family is receiving visitors Wednesday, 3-8 at the Flinch & Bruns Funeral Home, Lynbrook. Funeral Mass Thursday, 9:45am, Our Lady of Peace Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to OLP Parish Social Ministry, 25 Fowler Avenue, Lynbrook, NY 11563.
