KALNINS - Maija, of West Babylon, LI, on July 8, 2016. Beloved wife of Imants Kalnins. Devoted mother of Ilze Thielmann, Lize Ellen Thielmann and the late Maija Elaine Thielmann. Cherished grandmother of Malcolm Thielmann Thompson. Beloved godmother of Paul Balodis. Dear sister of Paija Silvas. She will be missed by nieces, nephews, friends and her former students at South Bay Elementary School in West Babylon. Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Hwy. (1/4 mile west of the Robert Moses Cswy.). Visiting Saturday, July 16th from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM. A religious service will be held at the funeral home, Saturday, July 16th at 1:00 PM. Interment to follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, NY. A memorial luncheon will be held after the interment, at Colonial Springs Golf Club, 1 Long Island Avenue, East Farmingdale, NY. All who wish to attend are welcome at any or all aspects of the celebration of Maija's life. The family also welcomes all expressions of condolence, including flowers and donations to one of the many charities Maija supported.
