I missed so much of family through my travels, but Charlie and Renate were always in my thoughts and prayers. He was a strong and yet gentle man. Quick to laugh, he never had a cloud in his sky. His sunshine was and will always be his beloved Renate. As one soldier to another, Charlie, I will see you again, and with cousin Tom, Sam and Mugeye, we will all drink a toast on fiddler's Green.

I am so sorry to hear of Charlie's passing and was happy that I reconnected with him on my last trip home. I remember him as we were growing up and his dad, too.Charlie was the most cordial, easy going person to be around and he has gone home. He was my dear cousin.
