Clifford Farr

ELYSBURG — Clifford Farr, 88, of Penn Avenue, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 22, 2013, at his home in Elysburg.

Born in Pennsauken, N.J., June 24, 1925, he was a son of the late Edward and Laura (Moss) Farr.

He graduated from Roxborough High School and the Pierce Business School, both in Philadelphia.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in World War II .

Clifford was married in Narberth in 1949 to the former Dora Enz, who preceded him in death Nov. 1, 2001.

He worked for many years for ARCOS Corp., and later for The News-Item as controller until retirement.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Shamokin.

Clifford is survived by a son, Jeffrey Farr, and wife, Larissa, of Weston, Conn.; a daughter, Barbara Farr, and husband, Michael Quigley, of Cutchoque, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Alexander, Victoria and Anastasia, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth, Donald and Harold.

FARR — Clifford Farr, 88, of Penn Avenue, Elysburg. A funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Rothermel Funeral Home, Elysburg, with the Rev. David Byerly officiating. Interment services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd. Visitation will be held from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
