KULPMONT - Ronald D. Spangler Jr., 54, of 1200 Oak St., passed away suddenly Friday, July 15, 2022.
He was born in Bellefonte, May 6, 1968, a son of the late Ronald D. Spangler Sr. and Gale (Hironimus) Spangler, who survives. Ronald was a residence of the Mount Carmel and Kulpmont area since 1998.
Ronald was a graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School and earned his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Penn State University.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army for more than 20 years before his retirement. He was deployed during Operation Iraqi Freedom for 18 months. Stationed in Baghdad where he was an integral part of the supply line that drove more than one million miles delivering crucial supplies through enemy territory.
He was a supervisor for the PA Department of Corrections Parole.
He was member of the Beech Creek American Legion, PSU Alumni Organization and Liberty Baptist Church, of Blanchard.
Ronald enjoyed fishing, camping, watching PSU football and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Ronald is survived by his mother, Gale Spangler, of Howard; three daughters, Alexis Rhoades, of Howard, Karley Spangler, of Atlas, and Ciera Spangler, of Den Mar Gardens; three grandchildren, Evelyn Rhoades, Ayden Wagner and Silas Vellner; his significant other, Kathy Hutnick and her two daughters, Stacy Parisella and Lindsay Shutt; and five grandchildren, Jax Huber, Gavin Shutt, Dominic Parisella, Benjiman Shutt and Luke Parisella; a sister, Nicole Hockenberry and her husband, Wayne, of Pleasant Gap; and two nephews, Dustin Melton and Anthony Spangler.
Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Ronald D. Spangler Sr.; and a brother, Anthony Spangler.
SPANGLER - Ronald D. Spangler Jr., 54, of 1200 Oak St., Kulpmont. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel, C.J. Lucas IV, supervisor. Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beech Creek American Legion, P.O.
