Judith Bare Obituary
Age: 68 • Rockbridge Baths, Virginia
Judith "Judy" Kay Clemmer Bare, 68, of Rockbridge Baths, Virginia, went to be with the Lord Sunday, May 29th, 2016. She was born January 27th, 1948, a daughter of the late W. Floyd Clemmer and Velma Mizer Clemmer. She was active in her church, McElwee Chapel, where she and Tom attended evening services for the majority of their married life. She was a member of the Bethesda Presbyterian Women and served several terms as an elder on the Session. Judy worked as an administrative secretary for Rockbridge County Schools. She retired in 1999 with 32 years of service. Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd & Velma, and her son, Kevin Todd Bare.
She is survived by the love of her life of 51 years, Thomas Lee Bare, loving son John Thomas Bare and wife Lori, two special grandchildren, Megan Elizabeth and John Tyler, her cherished aunt Glenna Mizer, cousins Linda Gladwell, Gail Brown, and Jeffrey Mizer, and countless special friends that over the years became family.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, June 2nd, at Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Rockbridge Baths, with Pastor Christina Tutterow officiating. Burial will immediately follow the funeral service at McElwee Chapel. Friends are invited to join the family for a meal to celebrate Judy's life at the Rockbridge Baths Volunteer Fire Department following the burial. Active pallbearers will be Leland Brydge, Richard "Dick" Fletcher, Tom Mueller, Charles Porterfield, Michael Sandridge, Buster "Buzzy" Walters. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Burks, Joe Fauber, Wayne Fitzgerald, Scott Heslep, and Charles "Colonel" Sandridge. The family will receive friends at 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 1st at Harrison Funeral Home in Lexington. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Bethesda Presbyterian Women, 90 Bethesda Road, Rockbridge Baths, VA 24473. Arrangements by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA 24450.

Judy was such a sweet lady. She had such a soft voice & she seemed to always have a smile on her face. I remember her when she worked in the office at Rockbridge High School & any time she'd see you she was always friendly.

I grew up in Middlebrook with Judy. We became very close friends for many years. Her Mom and Dad's house was always open to me. Since we both were only children we shared many of the same thoughts and ideas. I remember when she fell in love with Tommy. I knew from the very beginning that she and the love of her life would always be together. My prayers are with the family at this time of loss.
